How QuidQuo collects, uses and protects personal data when you use our website and platform, and the choices and rights you have.

01Who we are

QuidQuo (“QuidQuo”, “we”, “us”) operates a venture platform staffed by AI agents that helps founders assess, build and raise for their ventures. We are based in Cairo, Egypt, and we are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to info@quidquo.com.

02What this policy covers

This policy applies to our website, the QuidQuo platform, and any communication with us. It explains what personal data we collect, why, on what legal basis, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. We process personal data in line with Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020) and its executive regulations, and other laws that apply to us.

03The data we collect

Data you give us

  • Account details: name, email, password and contact details.
  • Founder and team profile: background, skills, experience, venture direction and the answers you give during onboarding, for you and for any co-founders you add.
  • Venture material: documents you upload (for example pitch decks, financial models, contracts and invoices) and the information extracted from them.
  • Fundraising records: investor organisations, work contacts, the state of each conversation and the reasons you record.
  • Payment details: handled by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.

Data collected automatically

  • Device, browser and log information, and how you use the platform.
  • Cookies and similar technologies, as described below.

Data from connected services

If you choose to connect a service (for example a professional profile, accounting or analytics tool), we receive the information that connection is authorised to share. Each connection is optional and can be removed at any time.

04Personal data about other people

Documents and records you add can name people who are not QuidQuo users, such as co-founders, employees on a cap table, advisors or investor contacts. You should only add this information where you are entitled to do so. We use it only as far as the work requires: for investor contacts, to hold a work contact and a record of business dealings. We do not hold personal contact details beyond a work address, notes on an individual’s character, or information shared with you in confidence.

05How we use your data, and why

PurposeLegal basis
Creating your account, onboarding, assessing your venture, building its materials and running the platformPerformance of our contract with you
Processing by AI models to deliver the servicePerformance of our contract with you
Holding records about investor contacts and other third parties named in your materialLegitimate interest, balanced and recorded, and minimised to what the work needs
Using anonymised patterns from your venture to improve our frameworks and benchmarksYour consent, which is optional and can be withdrawn at any time
Product emails about what has changedYour consent
Security, fraud prevention, and meeting legal and regulatory obligationsLegal obligation and legitimate interest

Declining optional processing never reduces the service you receive.

06AI processing and international transfers

Our agents use AI models that may be hosted outside Egypt. Sending data to those models is a transfer of personal data outside Egypt, and we treat it that way:

  • Each request carries only what that task needs. Identifying fields are removed or replaced with tokens where the task does not need them.
  • We only use model providers that do not keep inputs beyond the session and do not train on your data.
  • Providers are bound by written agreements on confidentiality, security, deletion and breach notification.
  • Transfers are made on the legal bases and with the safeguards required by applicable law.

07Who we share data with

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf, such as hosting, AI model, payment, email and analytics providers, under contracts that limit their use of it.
  • People you choose to share with: for example an investor you grant data room access to. Nothing is shared with an investor unless you choose to share it, and access can be revoked at any time.
  • Authorities where we are required to by law.
  • A successor in the event of a merger or acquisition, under the same protections.

We do not sell your personal data.

08How long we keep it

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as long as needed for the purposes above. Each category of data has its own retention period. When it expires, data is securely deleted or irreversibly anonymised. Where a record has to persist, for example to explain a past score or meet a legal obligation, the personal data within it is removed or anonymised and the structural record is kept.

09Security

We protect data with technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit and at rest, access limited by role, and logging of access. No system is perfectly secure. If a personal data breach occurs that affects you, we will notify the regulator and you as required by law.

10Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • know what personal data we hold about you and obtain a copy;
  • correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • have data erased or its processing restricted;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest;
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before;
  • be told about a breach affecting your data;
  • complain to Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Center.

You can exercise most of these from your profile, or by writing to info@quidquo.com. We will acknowledge your request promptly and respond within the time the law requires.

11Cookies

We use cookies that are needed for the site and platform to work, such as keeping you signed in. With your permission we may also use analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies in your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the platform from working.

12Children

QuidQuo is for adults acting for a business. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

13Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform or the law changes. We will post the new version here with a new date, and tell you directly about material changes.
